NSW Health funds and coordinates statewide drug and alcohol programs,
including early and brief interventions, treatment and extended care services that are delivered by hospital networks, non-government organisations and other partner departments.
The Centre for Population Health is responsible for coordinating the NSW Health contribution to whole-of-government policy development and implementation in alcohol and other drugs.
NSW Health produces a wide range of resources on alcohol and other drugs for the public and health professionals, including reports, guides, brochures and fact sheets.
A range of information, support and treatment services are available.
A new opportunity to help build the evidence base for early intervention models to support people at risk, with a particular focus on young people using drugs, will provide
funding of $8million over four years.
The fund consists of two funding pathways:
